Roulette has possibly been the world's most popular table gambling game in all of history. In fact the most recent version of roulette can be followed back to 1796 in Paris, France; although many primitive versions of the game have existed since the 17th century. The game is notorious for being both simple, and very complex. The mechanics of the game are easy enough to understand; there is a wheel that rotates and a small ball. The wheel is spun at a fast speed and the ball is placed onto the moving wheel which moves the ball around the wheel sporadically and randomly. Around the outsied edge of the wheel you will see 18 red pockets and 18 black pokets as well as one or two green ones. People used to have to venture out to casinos whenever they wanted their roulette fix, but nowadays online roulette is offered for free on several websites. One of the reasons roulette is so popular is because it appeals to both types of gamblers. Those who practice in order to game the system, and those who are simply paying to play a game that may pay them back. However the game can also be extremely complex to players who wish to master it There are two categories of bets that can be made. There are outside bets which are simple and are less risky. There are also inside bets, which are complicated and very risky, but will pay out more money if won. Outside bets are much more straightforward and are considered safer bets. What makes inside bets more risky than outside bets is how specific they are. Rather than betting on a color or a wide range of numbers an inside bet might guess a specific number, or a specific group of numbers. Until just recently casinos were always able to make money on casual and competitive gamblers alike because unless one built their own roulette table there was almost no way to practice, most of the practicing had to be done in casinos. Today this is no longer the case. Online gambling has exploded as more and more people are signing online to gamble meaning they can practice whenever they like.
